Nov. 24 - Storytelling is key to helping funders understand and connect with the people you serve

Storytelling is key to helping potential funders understand and connect with the people you serve.

Tip of the Week logo

Grant writing involves many financial figures and hard facts, but adding a human touch can make a big difference in helping funders truly understand the people you're helping. Take time to define why your organization has chosen its mission.

Take a moment to identify the "who." Put faces to those people you help with a case study excerpt or a shared exit survey quote. How did your program change the life of Suzie, a child in need? What is the community benefit of your project to Jerry, a community member? Always ensure you have permission to share personal stories.

Making your grant request engaging will keep the grant reviewers interested in your writing.
